A Rose by Any Other Name

Don’t get me wrong, I love a pink peony as much as the next girl. But seriously. If I see another peony bouquet I might lose it. And by “it” I mean my sanity.

Ladies, there are so many flowers to choose from. Don’t limit yourself to the traditional rose or the recently popular (too popular?) peony. Although these flowers are beautiful, and can be the perfect choice for you, don’t’ think you have to use them.  Think outside the box. Pick an interesting flower. Do us all a favor and step away from the peonies (unless you really love peonies, in which case, have at it).

Here are a few unexpected and interesting flower choices to consider:

French Anemones | With a dramatic black center and a modern charm, a bouquet of  french anemones is elegant and striking.

Succulents | There is something refreshing and delightfully different about a succulent bouquet. Although these plants have certainly become very popular in the last year, they haven’t quite reached unbearable levels of predictable.

Daisies | Probably the sweetest flower on earth, but one often overlooked for wedding flowers. Daisies, the flowers of happiness, can add a cheerful and lovely element to your wedding day. Not to mention they are inexpensive and hardy little things.

Orchids | The exotic and decadent orchid – pretty much the opposite of the daisy. So striking and completely unforgettable. Orchids are perfect for a glamorous formal wedding.

Lavender | My current favorite. Not only is it delicate, different, and romantic, it’s also deliciously fragrant and wont wilt in the middle of the reception. All lavender bouquets? Yes please!
