Gilded Champagne Flutes

These gilded champagne flutes are so easy to make it should be criminal. They add a little glamour to some plain flutes, and would be great for all the toasting you will do on your wedding day. They are also classic enough to have a place in your glassware at home after the wedding!

You’ll need: Two glass champagne flutes, painters’ tapes, newspaper, gold spray paint.

Start by creating the angled design by applying the painters’ tape. We kept the paint well away from the edge of the glass and angled the tape for a dramatic line.

Cover the top with newspaper, all around so that there are no gaps. A tight seal is important, so the paint does not seep through.

Outside, in a well ventilated area, spray the glasses carefully in a sweeping motion, holding the can about 10 inches from the glass. Try to be as even as possible and stay about 10 inches from the flutes (we didn’t and we had a few drips).

Let the champagne flutes dry and remove the tape and newspaper.

Wow. How good do those look and how easy was that?!
