Pantone Top 10 Colors for Spring ’17
Pantone, a global authority on color, has once again set the tone for the season. Executive Director of Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Eiseman writes, “One of the things that we saw this year, was a renewed sense of imagination in which color was appearing in context that was different than the traditional,”
When Pantone® releases their colors every season, clothing designers, home decorators, and wedding coordinators take notice. The colors released for Spring 2017 feature shades that depict a mixture of earthy natural tones, and vibrant, energizing tones.
Eiseman writes, “Reminiscent of the hues that surround us in nature, our Spring 2017 Fashion Color Report evokes a spectrum of emotion and feeling. From the warmth of sunny days with PANTONE® 13-0755 Primrose Yellow to the invigorating feeling of breathing fresh mountain air with PANTONE® 18-0107 Kale and the desire to escape to pristine waters with PANTONE® 14-4620 Island Paradise, designers applied color in playful, yet thoughtful and precise combinations to fully capture the promises, hope and transformation that we yearn for each Spring.” These colors will surely accent weddings throughout the coming seasons!
Greenery: This shade of green is explorative and refreshing. While it is steeped in adventure and excitement, this hue also encourages one to relax and breathe. Hazelnut and Pale Dogwood create a soft contrast when paired with this tangy-vivacious green.
Pale Dogwood: This delicate pink shade softens a room and encourages romance. Being both innocent and playful, the faint color is the perfect addition to any spring wedding color palette.
Hazelnut: This creamy color is robust and earthy. The nutty undertones keep this shade grounded and organic.
Primrose Yellow: This shade embodies sunshine and warmth. Effortlessly pair Primrose Yellow with Pink Yarrow and Kale for spring floral that highlights the cheerfulness of the season.
Pink Yarrow: Bold and noteworthy, Pink Yarrow is a vibrant contrast to any mellow tone. This striking shade demands recognition. It forcefully energizes and empowers all that bask in its glow.
Island Paradise: This soft hue of blue brightens and transforms any atmosphere. It is both light and delicate. It is reminiscent of gentle, salty breezes and wispy ocean waves. When paired with Pale Dogwood and Greenery, Island Paradise creates a bright beachy environment that inspires feelings of soothing relaxation.
Niagara: Like a rushing waterfall, this color is both demanding and restrained. This shade steadies the vibrant tones of Flame and Pink Yarrow.
Kale: “Evocative of the great outdoors and a healthy lifestyle, Kale is another foliage-based green that conjures up our desire to connect to nature, similar to the more vivacious Greenery. And, just as we see in nature, this lush and fertile natural green shade provides the perfect complementary background to the more vibrant tones in the palette.”
Flame: This vibrant hue is an electric blood-orange. Contrasting shades like Niagara and Pink Yarrow, this color encapsulates the new life that follows Spring.
Lapis Blue: “Conveying even more energy is Lapis Blue. Strong and confident, this intense blue shade is imbued with an inner radiance.”
