Your wedding exit should reflect your style as a bride and groom. Your exit will be permanently engraved into your memory as the moment you and your groom walked away into married life. Here are 5 wedding exit ideas to get your creative juices flowing. Incorporate your own colors and themes to tie them into your wedding. Don’t be afraid to try something new!
Petals: Gentle petals cascading around you and your groom can transform your wedding exit into a scene from a romantic movie. The fresh floral scent will linger in your nose as you and your groom ride into married life.
Bubbles: For a whimsical no-mess wedding exit, have your guest blow some bubbles your way! You can purchase personalized bubble bottles online for each guest to hold onto as a wedding favor. If you’d rather not rely on guests to blow bubbles, you can purchase bubble machines at Walmart for about $20.
Confetti: Nothing quite screams “celebration” like confetti. Have your guests shower you and your groom in confetti for a fun and joyous exit. Lightweight confetti stays in the air long enough for your photographer to capture amazing fun-filled exit photos. Your confetti can sparkle, it can be multi or mono colored, it can even be made up of pages from your favorite book or dried flowers. There is no limit to the combinations and designs you can come up with.
Sparklers: For a sparkly night-time farewell, grab some miniature, hand-held fireworks to vamp up your exit (as well as your adrenaline). Sparklers are bright and fun and make for amazing photos. Capture your exit as you walk through a tunnel of fiery light and into marital bliss. Your guests will love them. Make sure that there are clearly displayed places where guests can dispose of sparklers. You wouldn’t want to accidentally start a real fire!
Leaves: Forever remember the season of your wedding through incorporating leaves into your wedding exit. Not only do leaves add an extra natural element to your wedding, their price is unbeatable.
2 Exits to Avoid
Rice is not a good option for your wedding exit. It may actually be the worst idea for a wedding exit. Why? Rice is heavy and hard and it doesn’t stay in the air long. It doesn’t photograph very well. It is a tripping hazard for guests. Rice can even injure people when thrown too enthusiastically. I once heard a story about a bride that got a grain of rice got lodged in her ear during her wedding exit. Her ear got infected and she went to the hospital. When they tried to get it out, it ruptured her ear drum and now she is almost completely deaf in that ear. Rice is just a bad option.
Glitter is impossible to clean up. It gets everywhere. Trying to get it off your floors is one things, but getting it out of your hair is a whole different battle. Getting it off your wedding dress? Good luck. Even getting it off your face is impossible. Replace glitter with confetti made out of glitter paper. The pieces are bigger, which makes for an easier clean up, and they won’t stick to your face or dress.
